Luke I just made One of each for my White oak bow also made a hemp string. I always have more stretch using a sinew string at first but the sinew seems to last longer. The rawhide works good for a few then it seems to shred at the noks or at a thin spot in the cut of the skin but it is stiff and smoother, easy on the draw fingers.  The Sinew string is not as rough if using longer sinew.
The hemp tring if very strong, less stiff but is rough, used this one to tiller my white Oak bow at 40-45#
