Here is one i knapped out of that smelly rock.. Its black dover also known as T.N blue black chert. This was knapped un cooked and was not easy.

Mighty fine looking Lost lake. That piece does look tough. Does it make a very sharp edge? Might be just the stuff for hunting points or knives.

Nice looking point. That Onandaga chert from NY is the same way with the oil smell, it'll about give you a headache.
