Thanks guys for all the nice comments! It's the fine bowyers on here willing to share information that makes this whole thing much more enjoyable.

There was a lot first time doing things with this bow, so I don't know how much was me trying to survive the process or the wood. I don't think the wood was dry enough before I started but it wasn't loosing any weight over several days of monitoring, but still it was taking set way too early in the game. Also, having to chase a ring is another consideration with Osage, that's an added step that really adds to the process. But I will say Osage will allow you to fit your bow into a smaller package. Also very responsive to heat, this I know because this one got plenty. Now those comments are coming from a guy that's been living in the "white wood world" for awhile. I have another stave of Osage, I used the worst one on this bow so I will give it another shot soon. Guess I was looking for a little more magic from Osage but regardless of the wood, the destiny of any bow lies in the hands of the bowyer, right?
