;D ;D ;D Got a box from J Dempler today, in it was a knife, and i mean a KNIFE! remember the movie crocidile dundee when he says, " you call that a knife, this is a knife" well this is that kind of knife. the blade looks like it's a quarter inch thick!, i love it! If that wasn't enough i also got a 'hawk forged from a railroad spike, awesome! add in a baggie of osage seeds (Joe did his research, as i asked about these in another thread) and the turkey feathers he used instead of bubble wrap and this was a fantastic christmas! THANK YOU Joe!

very cool tomahawk
Life is not a journey to the grave with the intentions of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body. But rather to slide in sideways, thoroughly used up, totally worn out and loudly proclaiming....WOW WHAT A RIDE!!

You are very welcome, Dan, I'm glad that you like them.  :)
All of them seeds came from one hedge apple, So be careful where you plant them , they WILL take over if you don't keep them under control!!
Merry Christmas!

sorry the closeup of the knife is blurry, here are more details. The knife is 5160 spring steel, handle is lacewood with brass guards and elk antler spacers. As i mentioned the hawk is forged from a spike, then case hardened with a hickory handle.

The osage seeds will be more an experiment than anything, i'm not sure how well they'll do in Minnesota. I've heard of some osage in MN but i have never seen one. I'll also try to plant some in ND at my folks place, they have a bit of land that could use some more trees  ;D

Ok..I know this is a busy time of year, and sometime we commit to things and get in over our head....

that being said, if you are in this trade and feel like you are not able to complete your present...please let me know so that I can get a gift out to that person.  I would hate for someone to be left out...

I am in no way saying that someone has done this....but things happen, we all understand.  just send me a PM  and let me know.  I promise not to tell anyone!!

i just want to make sure you all get gifts!!!

I have seen a knife made from a horse shoe and now a hawk from a spike. You just never know what you are going to see from the talent on PA. Great looking pieces.
