asphaultum to attach arrowheads?
« on: April 13, 2009, 04:39:43 pm »
I picked up some Asphaultum last summer down on the Texas coast.  I know some of the coastal Indians used it to attach points with.  I've had mine in a ziplock bag and pulled it out today it was very brittle.  It was soft and flexible when I picked it up.  I tried to melt a little bit of it off to experiment with. (Smells like burning tires! :o) Anybody here ever hear of this stuff or know how to work with it? Thanks.
