Well, I have turpentine, denaturalized alcohol, and mineral spirits. Which is the best to degrease IPE for boo glueup?
Which is best for osage to prepare for sizing and sinewing with hide glue?

I've only sinewed one bow so far, it was ERC. It is pretty oily like Osage so the advice would probablly work the same. To prepare it for the hide glue I cleaned it with acetone a few times. Then mixed some hide glue pretty thin and painted the back of the bow 3 times with the glue. I would put a coat on as soon as the other was dry.

I used to degrease osage for BBO glue-ups but haven't in years and had no failures. I use Urac and score the mating surfaces with a toothing plane .
