Finished another Osage selfbow
« on: March 24, 2009, 03:43:50 pm »
I picked up a stave that caught my eye last weekend at OJAM and finished it up this morning
64" ntn, 60@29" hemp wrap and finished with paraffin

I'll try and get a full draw pic when a friend comes over this afternoon

Now that pic with the water drops on the tip and the flemish loop is just plain art. Seriously, that needs to be matted and framed.

Beautiful bow. I like the hemp wrap and the knot hole. Very clean looking.
Just remember, you can't put the wood back on.

You did a great job on that one Ol'school. One of the nicest ones made this year at OJAM.

How wide is the widest part of the limb?

1.5" across the fade and knothole tapered to .5" at the nocks.
Jawge, I used paraffin on the bow and hemp grip wrap

Cool looking bow...I love that hole in the middle!  If the hole was a little lower, you could have made it like one of those shoot through the middle kid's plastic bows!LOL  Anyway, nice job.

I thought of that too late, around the campfire we talked about that, I could have put a whisker biscuit there to mess with the wheely boys  >:D
