Opinions on where to store a finished bow???
« on: March 08, 2009, 11:54:22 pm »
as of now my longbow is complete, yayyy bends evenly and everything, i dont have a tillering stick nor do i have a scale atm but the closest thing i have is a support beam, i used that, ill take pictures use my bow see how it shoots, then i want to figure out what is best to store it in, i dont feel comfortable storing it in my basement, we have a dehumidifyer to prevent mold... and even with a seal that could effect it a little, any tips?

I keep my bows in our utility room. I have a board with wood pegs in it that I hang bows from by their string.

The ones I keep are all just stacked in the shop.  Hangin on walls, leaned in corners, even some layin on the floor.I built an 8x8' room that catches all my stuff. I have paths.

Stored horizonally on an interior wall would be ideal............with a humidity gauge setting on one limb!  ART B

Mine are all stored like my Guns are....stacked in Corners...hanging in closets....any nook or cranny I can find to hold them...just dont store them where it is damp.....I havent gotten one Bow with a Twisted Limb from Storing on a Limb Tip....vut then I do reverse them every once and a while too...

The bows for the year are stored in a heated and air conditioned environment. The others are down in my cellar stuck in the ceiling joists. Jawge

I've got over a dozen bows lying HORIZONTALLY on my closet. I found bows 'stanging' take more set in the lower limb and get a negative tiller.
stoor them inside, somewhere, hanging HORIZONTALLY on a wall, under your bed, somewhere...
