tillering question
« on: February 10, 2009, 01:06:51 am »
I'm build my first bow, a board bow, basically following Sam Harpers instruction.  After applying the TB and fiberglass meshing, my bow developed a deflex.  I was actually hoping to put a reflex it, anyhow.  The right limb has 1 3/4 inch deflex and the left has 3/4 inch deflex.  It seems this diffence is deflex of each limb would effect the tillering.  Is this correct?  At what stage should I stop tillering and correct the deflex?

Right now at pulling the long sting 10 inches I have 20# pull.  The arc is pretty good.  Measuring from the floor to the tips, the left limb is pulling down an inch higher than the right.  I'm assuming that is because it has an inch less deflex.
