Knap in North Carolina

Will there be a knap in anywhere in North Carolina this year. I would like to learn how, and maybe buy some flint.

Go to the Schiele Museum in Gastonia, the first weekend of August. It's an ABO Knap-In with vendors. Well-attended by some talented knappers.

Also the NC State Traditional archery Championships in late May(near Hickory) will have quite a few knappers and anytime you get 2 knappers together with rock, you have a knap-in. ;D

What part of NC are you in? All the ones that have already been listed are great. Any time a few of us get together, there's usually at least a mini-knap-in going on.

Progress might have been all right once but it's gone on for far too long.

It looks like the date for the N.C. Knap-In near Burligton will be September 18-20, 2009.

We are still working on the particulars and expect to have more detailed info posted in the next couple of weeks. Necessity forced us to make a few (minor) changes for the better this year. Bring your rock chipping gear, be ready to work on your knapping skills, and make some new friends.
