my new english longbow

yup my new longbow its 45.5 pound hickory longbow the arrows is 32 inches long so ill be making some new arrows soon that are suited to this bow as the arrow that im holding is only spined 35# and I made this bow completely myself and im 11...

thanks guys this is the first time i tried building a bow too. David its really not that hard to build a bow. What i did is i drew my plans on a piece of paper then drew the thickness and the width and all that stuff on the bow, got my bench plane, planed it down to my desired thickness what was kept slightly above the final thickness got a scraper and sandaper and d shaped it. Then I tillered it and put on horn nocks, in the beginning i had trouble pulling it back but now im handling it like its a glassfiber bow!:D

  Very Fine looking bow, and a pretty impressive accomplishment. Did you build it from a kit, board or stave? How did you make the horn nocks?

I made the bow from a stave that i purchased from crowshead outfitters. I just used a draw knife a bench plane and a scraper(a steel ruler actaully) I am very happy with the poundage also I was cheap and bought the horn nocks from the longbowshop along with my arrowmaking supllies ;D

Mullet: Bowstick Archery is now in NJ.And they do ship, and good prices? (but I'm not trying to advertise for them) I've delt with them in the past.WWW.Buildabow.com
