Working on a new bow
« on: December 09, 2008, 01:46:53 pm »
I got this stave from Pappy at the classic this year.
I took the bark off at that time, but only worked
on it a short time since then. I had the hardest
time with this stave to get it down to one growth
ring. I have it on a long string now, and trying to
finish it for a hunt coming up at the end of December.
I hope it will survive, it did develop a crack near
one of the holes after this photo was taken.
Thanks for looking.
Chuck

Chuck, from seeing your other bows at the Classic I'm sure if anyone can make a bow out of this stave, it's you. ;) 8) 8) 8)
Looking forward to your progress.     Pat

Whoo, that top one closest to the tip looks scary ! Might have to do some sort of patch there on the belly side or something. I'm sure you'll get 'er done Chucky.  ;D

Thanks for the encouragement guys.

Ryan, that top hole might be alright. The one side only
came out to the edge half way through the stave. The other
hole developed a crack. I filled it with glue, we'll see what happens.

Matt, I'm very busy for another week of hunting and getting
ready for LBL. I'll look you up after the holidays.
