Making Memories
« on: December 06, 2008, 11:06:49 am »
My 4 year old has been wanting to go squirrel hunting for a while so I took him this morning.  I usually see 20 or more squirrels where I took him but for some reason they weren't out and about this morning.  We saw a couple but they were far off.  It was 24 degrees this morning and he got pretty cold so our hunt only lasted about an hour, but when he got home you would have thought he'd been on a week long hunt.  He told mom and his brothers and sisters every detail.  He wanted to cammo up, "Like and Army man daddy," so we did.  No squirrels but great fun and a good memory.

Now that's a fine picture for the family photo album! You should have come over to my house this morning, there were four or five right next to the yard. :)

that's great, moments like that will keep them thinking of the fun you had together while you're away.  my wife, 2 year old daughter and i stayed near fort sill on my pass, and there was a place where water shot out of the ground randomly, my daughter had a blast and i can vividly picture her laughing every time one would shoot up and surprise her.  i wouldn't trade that one memory for all the squerrils and deer in the world!
way to get your son involved!  good job dad.
