Post by: benjamin on November 16, 2008, 11:45:55 pm: FINALLY!!!! Technolagy sucks, that's why we do this stuff right? This is the siberian elm from a friends yard, it's a trash tree here which is good for me. 40'' ntn, 1 1/2'' wide to midlimb, 3/4'' wide at tips, 40# at 18''. At on;y 1/2'' set, I decided to leave it as is. The paint is poster paint and since the brush I baught wasn't getting the lines straight like I wanted, I used one of the shavings frome the stave to paint with. Score another one for "primitive" methods. I'm still looking for something to paint into the empty spot above the handle wrap. Any coments are welcome.

I'm trying to get away from using fast flight for my string and bindings, at least for a few bows. Anyway, I'm rambling.

Post by: Traxx on November 17, 2008, 11:33:26 pm: Nice lookin paint job.That style,could be considered Maidu or Wintu.They often used a narrower bow than others of the region.Maybe smaller triangles faceing downward on the tips,along the lines.
