Post by: Ryan_Gill_HuntPrimitive on November 09, 2008, 04:07:03 pm
I have a lot of family just outside of State College PA. (Central Pennsylvania)  and i am goin up there in 1 1\2 weeks to do some visiting with the older relatives,  anyone one know what kinda stone a guy should keep an eye out for?  i have been there many times but not in a few years and i just never took much interest in looking for stone back then.  good chert in Penna at all?

I live in Clarion county Pa, I have found some purple chert here and there. Might be a good time to gather some good hickory staves though, we seem to have a lot of it here.
