Title: Bow Length and Tree Stand Utility

Anyne here ever use a long bow, IE 70-72", from an elevated platform?

Most of my bows are 68: to 72" inlength - I shoot from an elevated platform with no side or front rails - be sure to use a safety harness

yea. think you will find a lot of folks here have and or do.
other than having to be a little more careful with not knocking them into twigs and or leaves etc to keep noise down I dont think it is much different than using a shorter bow up high.

Reckon I will need to cant the bow. I always use the HSS and lean out. I also use a lineman's harmess up and down. We had our first tree stand fall in the area last week, with two broken legs for the hunter involved. Could have been worse.

Pete, I have used long bows up to 72" in a tree stand. You have to be aware of your surroundings and prune accordingly but it can and is done all the time. Canting the bow helps but be sure you practice that way.     Pat
