this is an Elm Flat Recurve - 65" ntn, 43#@28".
It's a strange type of elm - the limbs are thick like a 65#er. It was first a normal longbow but gets lots of stringfollow (3"). I really heat TREATED the limbs several times into 2,5" reflex an also heat treated the recurves. The back was bad so I backed it with silk.
After narrowing the limbs to a better shape and final tiller the bow came out at about 45#@28". After final adjustment and shooting in it stops at 43#. I think it's ok because of this strange kind of wood.

What's not to like? Very nice elm recurve. Got you bookmarked for Oct Self Bow of the Month, too.

Looks like it will make meat to me :)
-
Yeah, but we're in Germany not allowed to make meat with a bow :'(
-
Now that is down right depressing :(

Bambule, are you allowed to shoot farm animals...like geese or chickens? Seems like it would easier to shoot one with an arrow (for dinner) than chase it around the yard. Or perhaps it's illegal to raise livestock without a special permit?

Bowhunting is illegal in Germany. No way out. You have to be a hunter with an offical huntingcard and you have to make a hunting"school". Then you're allowd to go hunting.
But not everywhere. It's very complicated here...
