Title: My new rocks
Post by: leapingbare on October 08, 2008, 10:51:07 pm
Here is the Coral i got from Eddie. I think i did pretty good making good on the rock with out a saw, out of the 5-6 large hunks he sent me i got about 50spalls and a few large bi-faces!
2nd pic is another one of the knife i gave Grant, its not as nice as i would of liked and i lost alot of width off it, there was a crack that ran down my centerline that fought me the hole way.
the arrow head came from a flake. All the rock in the pic is heat treated. Thanks again Eddie!

Nice blades, Jessie. You did good on the spalls. Coral, heat treated, makes some nice, translucent points. Did you get some good colors out of it?

Those look really nice.  Go give yourself a raise and an extra day of vacation.  Keep 'em comin'.

Are you percussion flaking those nice long flakes? Or pressure flaking them off?  The is the kind of flakes I am trying to make.  I make a few now and then, but not consistent.
