Hi again. I did this one without asking any questions. I just read every post that comes alog. Haven't missed a day of posts since January.
The stave is from a tree I cut in may and roughed out and dried per Comstock. It's bitternut hickory that had some borer damage that wasn't apparent until I started tillering. Not having my own wood lot, I'm not going to waste any wood if I have to, so I plunged ahead. It is 66" ttt with pin knocks. 1 3/4 inches to midlimb tapering to 1/2 inches. It pulls 45# @ 28 inches. The cast on this one is a lot better than the first one, so I am going to take it hunting. The grip and arrow pass are made from an old leather couch and the paint job is from a little known western NY tribe known as the Ruges. Finished it with 4 coats of spar. Needs some wax before we go hunting. The tiller isn't perfect, but it shoots good so I'm going to live with it.

Excellent! Congratulations on your second bow! Jawge

Congratulations, Aruge
Thats really good for your second bow. Your first bow was really good as well. You will learn more from every bow you make and you are well on your way already. Most will break their first several bows.
You'll be surprised in the performance changes in different wood types and styles of bows. Have fun and enjoy your accomplishment and good luck hunting.

You have done very well on your first 2 bows...and already you are addicted! 8) I'm looking forward to seeing your progress. Pat

Congrats on your 2nd bow. Any chance you could post a larger image of your full draw (and maybe all of 'em) for Oct Bow of the Month consideration. I usually set my images at 100 pixels per inche and about 5"x5" image

Well, Old Bow, my head and heart know that this isn't going to be, nor should it be, bow of the month, but vanity stepped in. So here are some more pictures. Better, I hope. Al

Now I know I am a thoroughly hooked bowmonkey...a coworker heard me say "oh baby" while I was looking at the full draw photo and came over to see what porn site I was looking at!!! O:)
Seriously nice bow, and if that is only your second bow i cannot imagine how fine they are gonna look in the coming years.

Thanks for the kind words. It means a lot to an old guy. Especially about the coming years.

Good looking bow and I like your artwork. The borer damage adds some personality to the bow!
