Do you guys shoot with a shooting glove or a tab? Personally I shoot with a pair of tight leather gloves that were like 5 bucks. They where light tan so I camoed them with some walnut stain.
-
Bare Handed
-
yup bare hand here too, never even think of a glove or anything untill after about 60 shots then my shoulders are shot anyhow so no worries
-
When I shot wheels I used a tab but since I started trad I went to a glove. My main reason was to keep from dropping or loosing a tab. With the glove attached to my wrist, if I drop it, so go I! ;D
I have always liked the feel of the string on my fingers and a glove gives me the protection my hands need but I can still feel the string. I prefer a Damascus glove. I have tried a super glove and it was nice but for the difference in price the Damascus works fine. Pat

I've used both over the years. Lately I've been using a tab.
-
Glove, like Pat I kept loosing tabs while hunting. :'( Justin

tab. make my own, cut out of plain leather with no spacer. usually keep a spare in my pocket
-
Bare handed usually. I use a tight, full glove when shooting over 55#...not one of those 3-finger jobs..
-
Niether most of the time, but during late season 80# on cold fingers hurts worse than any blister or cut could. So I made a simple little leather tab. I tried making a glove, but my original model kept falling off my fingers, and I had trouble aligning the arow from my quiver without being able to feel it on the sides of my digits.

A mid-heavy weight leather glove by Grizzly. I've tried tabs, and don't like them. Thin deerskin, calfskin, and nylon tipped gloves are too thin. Cordovan and those with hard inserts are too stiff to feel my anchor. I'm picky on their fit, wanting snugness, with finger openings that are shorter than my own fingers, so that there is no extra leather hanging off the end. As such, I only buy them at bigger shoots where there are a bunch setting out on a table to try on. I might go through 20 or 30 to find the "perfect" one. I try to stock up when I can, since I go through one or two a year.

Tab. Don't really have a reason for using one rather than a glove. You guys have me thinking about the bare handed deal. Less equipment less problems. ;D
-
Just takes a bit to get the Fingertips toughened up...but if it's under 60 pounds....it's no problem
-
Glove
-
Bare handed, Fingers are so callous cant feel a thing anymore/
-
Bare fingered unless shooting 90#+ and with a skinny string...Then I prefer a glove....
-
i was shooting bare fingered for a while and was just fine. but the last hickory bow i made made me switch to a glove. after shooting it in i lost the feeling in my my middle finger for a couple of weeks. took a bit to get used to a glove, but i like it now. im with Adam, i use one made by grizzly.

Bare fingers here.
-
i shoot bare fingers...but i think i might make a tab with just a piece of buckskin...my bows are around 50# and i dont really need one..
-
When I shot a wheel bow I sometimes shot bare fingers or used a tab. Then I realized it wasn't worth a hand of finger injuries so I went to a tab until I changed to a glove when I started using trad equipment. Pat
-
same...i shot tab when i shot wheels...glove i cant feel right, too stiff, so i think ill make myself a tab here soon.
-
I use a Damascus glove.
-
bare fingers. One less thing to lose or forget.I have a small groove wore into my finger--almost like it ,s mean,t to be there--HMMM!!!!!!!!
-
I've got a lot of both and have shot both over the years. When I shot a recurve a lot I shot a tab but I shoot a Damascus glove with all my self bows.
-
I shoot a glove ... go through about two a year... ;D the stitching always gives out after a few thousand arrows ... nothin lasts anymore ;) HAWK
-
Extra thick leather tab, cut off short so my finger tips stick out far enough to feel my face. My fingers are tough enough not to use one, but I get a cleaner release with a tab. I don't like the string to be in any grooves or bury into my fingers. That's why I like 'em thick.
-
I've been using a gloveless string lately, its not quite as good as a glove, but is easier to use.
-
I use a tab,I used a glove for a long time but it seemed they weren't as good as they once was and about the time they were feeling just right, they were worn out.Tabs last a long time.I have several
but if I loose it in the field I just shoot bare fingers. :)

I've always shot a glove even when I first started with compounds. I've tried a tab, and didn't like the feel of it at anchor...couldn't touch the corner of my mouth and feel it.
-
I have a wicked nasty scar on my right ring finger, it hurts like crazy every shot I take.
Fortunately I'm dumb enough to shoot anyway.
I use a tab because they're usually thicker than gloves, so it hurts less.
-
I use a tab and often slide it down over the string after unstringing as a string keeper. have cut several, so I always have a backup 'till i find my favorite one again at the bottom of my kid's toybox.... Only thing from wheelie shooting I still use. Glad I never got into releases.

I've shot with a glove, i use a tab now, no reason really.
