These are the first arrows from cane I've made. Got these in trade and was anxious to make arrows. Only cane arrows I've ever seen are ones that have been posted here on PA.
The ones on the left are the first made, in order, to the last 4 on the right. The last 4 are shooting the best. The 2 shorter ones of the 4 were not shooting the best so made the other 2 longer. That seemed to help and no doubt made them spine a little weaker.
Just now before I came in, I was shooting the last 4 and the 2 shorter ones that I didn't like, I tried shooting cock feather in and it made a world of differnce. Tried all 4 feather in and that seemed the best. Will also try first few with feather in to see how they respond!! :-\
Any feed back would be appreciated.... I'm sure there are things I can do to make them better!! ;)
The last picture is what I like to do when I'm not making arrows. :D..... Playing with my grandson Hunter, my future arrow loser!!

They look good to me, and you just gave me an idea of where to put the kids when they get irritating. Mine are 14 and 9, so I will need a bigger box, with a lock, and chain.

Nice looking arrows. They are probally shooting better with the cock feather in because you didn't orient your feathers with the stiff side of the cane.

Nice arrows, Lowell. Like Eddie said, you want the node lined up along the horizontal plane. That is the stiff sides of the canes. You did a good job of straightening then. After a few more you will have them figured out. Pat
