thanks justin. these bows were both built using stone tools. the kids started them 2 springs ago and just finished them this weekend. they did an awesome job. both bows draw around 20 # at 22". are made of hop hornbeam and have dogbane strings made by my daughter. she is 11 , her name is roan and aidan my son is 10. this was the best bow project ive worked on. i documented evry step and will be submitting the experience to p.a. for an article. peace

Great to see the kido's building bows and shootin'. My daughter told me she wants to start shooting with me... so this weekend I refinished an Osage bow I had that wasn't completed for her and she loved it. She is 16 yrs old... I say better bows than boys.LOL I'll post pics of the bow when I get time.

That's cool Jamie. I remember when you and the kids started this project, that's when I sent you the Axe. They did good, It had to be rewarding watching your kids do this. I'm looking forward to reading the article.

Jamie great to see what you've been up too. I saw you in a PA magazine in 2004 I believe with a bow you made with all stone tools. Got me going that's for sure. I credit you and and an article by Tim Baker as my main inspiration for my 1st stone-age projects.

Nice, Jamie. I too am looking forward to the story. I've met your older boy, great kid, and way to bright for his own good :) Jamie's wife is terrific, too.

it was an awesome experience that taught me a lot too. i'll pass on all the kind words to the kids. thimos very cool to see you back. one of my reasons for doing this was to not only inspire and teach the kids but to show others working with abo tools was very doable and hopefully inspire others to give it a try. peace

Great family pictures and typical of Jamie's fine and primitive work. Bookmarked under Self Bows, too, for August.
