well almost finished.. still need to wrap the handles. but im really excited about these. i was about to give bow makin up after having the last few come out way to light.
the 1st one is a 64" hickory and pulls 53# @ my 27 draw . i used a torch to darken it up a bit.

and the osage is 60" long and pulls 56# @ 27.
i used red mohogany stain to make it dark . its kinda ugly but shoots fast and right where im lookin. i plan to give it to my friend later this week for helping me cut all the osage awhile back.

Dude, your tiller looks good to me. I'm no expert but I'm guessing that at that draw length your probabley Ok on the short bow Good job on all of the above. Danny

Jon those are nice. I didn't get a chance to see em that weekend. Nice work. :)
56" 47@27 is short but looks like yer doin it. Might take a bit more set than if it was longer, looks like you're gonna find out. I always make mine twice drawlength plus at least 8% ...used to make 'em all 68" ;)

Nice bows. Sometimes it takes a while to get it all figured out. Aren't you glad you didn't give up? Pat

Very nice bows, all. No, I think your short bow is fine, but if you want, rawhide would give it extra insurance. your tiller looks good on all three. way to hang in!

thanks all . a wise man told me to stop trying to floor tiller and just put a long string on to get it bending. i think i was taking to much wood off when i floor tillered. dont know if this is a good way or a bad way to do it , but seems to be the only way i can....lol
