I know this is not the right place to post this, but I wanted to personally thank Pat Brennen for his donation of a fine bow to the auction we always have. This year the funds went to help reimburse the Marshall Bowhunters for the fire losses they had this spring. The auction raised about $4,400.00. The bow went to a good home, Pat you can always come to my house and see it if you feel the need ;D I wish I had some pictures, but I am still trying to recoup from the drive, maybe in a few days. Pat is a fine man as most of you know, Thank you Pat.
Gas prices did not hurt the event one bit!! dang oil companies. >:(
-
Glad to hear the club was helped out in such a way.
Dano, it was great to see you and I wish I could have said goodbye but you had wondered from camp a bit when we headed out. Looking forward to next year, maybe I will have some vacation time to stay for a couple of days.
-
Lonnie what can I say ::) Good byes are tough at MOjam. It was great to see you and your new found love, I am happy for ya bud.
-
Dano, I'm glad to hear the bow went to a good home :-* and I definately donated it to a good cause. MoJam is a very special event, to me and many others and has been since it began many years ago. I am glad I could finally contribute to it. Only hope I can make it there some day. 8) Pat
-
It was sure good meeting a lot of the guys I have been seeing on line. Dano and I went to the same schools and played at the same parks as kids and then moved only about 2 blocks from each other as adults but never met until mojam, I thought that was pretty cool, Dano is a real hoot!! Steve
-
Steve, Did you get to try some of Dano's lemonade? :o
-
Even with the "oppressive humidity" it was a lot of fun, and like Dano said a great fund raiser..I tried to get a sip of Dano's Lemonaide, but it might have been a little "potent" since I didn't need to get any more dehydrated..
Sean (1/2 Primitive) makes some real fine bows, especially considering his ripe young age..Great Kid!
Hopefully some photos will show up here soon..
Rich
-
Pat, I kept eyeballing his lemonade but was afraid I might like it too much. It didn't seem to have much affect on Dano but that stuff makes me stupid!!! Steve
-
Steve and Rich ya gotta work out on the lemonade it's like runnin a marathon, except different ;D
Pat if it takes you as long to get to Mojam as it'll prolly take me ta get back east again, we both might be too old to enjoy it ::) but I doubt it.
-
Glad to see everyone made it home OK….was good to see all of you.
Dano, I do hope you were able to remedy the flatulence issues before you got home.
-
My wife and I made the trek a few years ago. Great time. Badger, when you spoke about oppressive humidity you hit a cord. I did my Basic Training and AIT ant Ft Leonard Wood in MO July -October. For this Northern boy it was hot and humid. When I went to Mojam all activity had to be in the morning. Despite the humidity it was nice meeting people I knew from the internet. Jawge
-
George, If you were stunned with the humidity at Ft Leonardwood you would have flipped out at Ft Polk . We lived in tents for most of basic and had 7 pipes coming out of a cement block wall for shower accommodations for 750 men. My first night on guard duty it rained 18 inches. No, that isn't a typo, 18 inches. Ah, tents and humidity, it brings back such "fond" memories.
-
John, all my problems seem to clear up when you drove out ta gate ;D You my friend are one sneeky practical joker, I like that .
Just so's ya'll know, Saturday night after the auction, a bunch of us went back to our camp site and as I went to set down it sounded like I blew out my shorts, I said excuse me, but it happened to be one of them fart machines, and John was the only one with his hands in his pockets. It wouldn't have been so bad, but when Kieth Bishop and his lovely wife Suzie came by to say goodbye. I gave Suzie a big hug and that dang machine went off, at first Suzie was very gracious, and of course I was very embarassed, thanks again John ::) so naturally I had to point out the dang thing just to save what littlereputation I have left, and we all had a good laugh. There will be some revenge. >:D
-
xin, Ft Polk, Louisiana. I can imagine. Jawge
-
Thanks for the good times, Friends. Y'all make twenty hours of driving seem like nuthin'.
PS. I put some pics on the Leatherwall.
-
Seems to me I remember a flatulence problem at the last gathering we were at. He always looked and pointed a someone else...even the dog that was runnin around. Souns kindy suspicious to me.
Missed all you guys this year...Is JD fatter than the last time?
R.
-
Sparky, JD looks pretty darn good for his age, I think he's colorin his hair ;D
We sure missed seein you this year.
-
Thanks Dano....me and Pop wanted to go but as usual...I had to work. Hope ya gave up a big howdy fer the Texas contingient.
That color you speak of could be Osage dust. was it yellar like his zipper er was it grey from all the long hours toiling away making bows for everybody but his close friends that rag him about his weight?
R
-
We gave up a big howja do, toasted wit a little lemonade. Give pops a big ol hug next time ya see him.
-
Hey Dano, it was great seeing you again. The Marshall Bow Hunters again made everyone feel at home. It's a great place for a gathering, just warm and humid enough to let you know it's summer without too much misery.
Really glad that Rich Saffold came back from CA for a visit and Badger came in for a first hand view of what Rich, Sal and John have been talking about at their CA bow gatherings. We got a great bunch in our camp again. Rob Reed, Sal, John, Badger, Larry and Bob Barnes, what a crew. Badger and Rich, you made a great addition, hope you come back again next year.
Sparkiy, where you been? Still have the official MoJAM 2002 quiver I got from you. The friendship arrows have their own quiver. Got a couple more to add from this year. Red Buffalo had a fine bunch of arrows for sale, had to fill up Rachel's woven quiver with them.
Great day in the morning we're blessed to have such friends and a place to share the memories. Gifford.
-
Dang Dan...I sure missed you guys! I told the lil' woman I'm going hell er high water next year.
Hope your doing well...did ya shoot the course this year?
We'l do it next year for sure....
Keep in touch!
R.
-
Will do Dano...we lost Mom this year to the big "C". it has been tough on Pop. we was thinkin about you guys tho....
thanks buddy...the fire's always welcome for ya!
R
-
Roger, I was hoping to see you there, but I understand..I remember your Dad, and I hope the days get a bit brighter for him..
I've already got permission to go next year, and I would have been bidding on JD's bow if I didn't have to shell out 400.00USD$ :o for a rental car since my connecting flight in SLC was cancelled and they didn't let me know...A rental car costs as much as a plane ticket from the west coast..Brutal...
Dan, Thanks for all the help, and I hope that bow shoots well for you..Next year I'm going to make sure I'm riding with Sal, or in KC a day early so I don't miss the boat..
Keith and the guys from the club there are like family, and it was wonderful to go "home" again.. Besides where else can you be shooting clay pigeon targets at 1am while listening to the latest inbred/redneck jokes, and laughing so hard you can barely breath...
Rich
-
Hey Rich!
Glad the Cali folks could make it! Hey bud I'll be there next year for sure. The redneck jokes are just part of being a Texan...even if it is just for a w-end..LOL
Me and Pop missed you guys!
Thanks for the kind words!

Hey Roger, your name was mentioned a few times last weekend, good and bad:) Missed visiting with you and your dad even if you are from Texas, your both good eggs in my book.
JD
-
Flatulence? Was DRT there? Been so long some of ya'll don't even remember ole DRT do you. 'At boy don't need no freaking fart pillar.
Hey Sparky, and JD and Giff and some of ya'll I don't ever see but at MoJam!
-
Yes, Mojam this year was great. I am still scratching bug bites that I got on the 3-D range, though!
I'm glad that I got to meet so many new folks from here.
Gifford, I already finished the quiver from the leather that you gave me. I'll post pictures soon.
Sean
-
Missed you this year, Brian. Too bad you couldn't make it. :P
Sean
-
Yep...sounds like I missed a good one...1st time since I descovered Mojam 5-6 years ago :'(...wont let it happen twice tho..see ya next year(or sooner)...Brian
-
Was a grand time for sure. Pat I got one bifd in on your bow but Dano was unbeatable in the auctions this year. Must have recently gotten a gov't check or something and was determined to burn it all up. Even high bid on a Duct tape Lakota quiver. Dangest thig ya ever saw. Was great seeing many of you again and meeting Badger..he doesn't look anything like he writes :D Hope none of ya suffered the after effects from the HDFH.
It's always tough leaving Mojam.
Sure missed a bunch that weren't there.
DRT...what a hoot ;)
-
The wife already spent that nice little Govt. check ::). This year I just had a paticular interest in helping out the Marshall Bowhunters, funny thing was when I quit bidding on stuff I thought I was at my limit, I coulda had me another bow :'( Like I need another one. The wife sure loved what I brought her home tho, Life is good when my lovely wife is happy. ;)
-
Did you get her one of those baskets or are you talking about that pretty arrowhead necklass?
-
Yep, I needed the basket for the necklace, and those two rose candle holders, oh yeah and the Gnome that Bucth Spear carved ;D
-
so that's where my wife's new necklace went... :) the auction was too much fun Dano!
Bob
-
You know it Bob, and the Marshall Bowhunters are happy too.
-
Was good to see you all again and a big thank you to all of you that made this years event a great time. Special thanx to all who donated and those who bid on them.
I was sad to see you all leave. Our son is getting married Saturday and my lovely wife is about to work me to death. Why does company make some women go crazy? Oh well it is stuff that has been needed for awhile and this gets it done.
I look forward to seeing you all again next year here as well as elsewhere. This year I made it to the OJam get together and am planning on the Tenn Classic for next year.
Pat as you have seen Dano got your bow. We thank you and do hope that our paths cross someday.
And last but not least Thank you to Primitive Archer Mag for all they do to help us all stay connected
. keith

LOL. That ain't exactly where my brain was Dano, but thanks. Some possibility I will still be doing chemo by then, or some other life event. I wasn't thinking the big dirt nap would be what gets in the way! I'm really blessed, truly, and faith I treasure above all else. It's all we really got brother! Everything else turns to dirt, eventually. I'm doing great actually, compared to where I have been.
Good to see folks talking about and planning for Pappy's shoot, and seeing it grow every year. I knew when I went the first time several years ago it would be a big hit. May not ever be as big as MoJam, but it is closer, at least for me and all the East coasters, and cooler. Lots cooler. LOL
-
Glad to hear your doing great David, you've got the right attitude for sure.
-
We've got a date David. Next spring,Tennessee. keith
-
Thats real good to hear David!
-
Yea Roger we missed seeing a poodle on the spit again this year.
David been thinking about ya, been meaning to email ya, got no excuse. Glad to hear you are doing better.
Sounds like I need to make it to Pappy's next year .....rain or shine.
