Nice bows James but I'm not surprised. Your wood combos are striking. The cypress is very similar in appearance to yew. Pat
-
thanks pat,the cypress wont hold up as bell lam or self bow, ive tried several times, seems too weak
-
Hope you dont mind James I merged your two threads into one. Beautyful bows as usual. I really like the second one.
-
thanks ryano,i wished i was smart enough to do that,it didnt seem to take you very long.and thanks for the comp
-
James, you can add up to six pictures in each reply just keep clicking on "more attachments." ;) Only us mods can merge threads, so you would have been figuring for a while..... ;D Your welcome buddy. You make some of the nicest laminated bows Ive seen, theres only a few guys out there making them like that with the bamboo backs and bellys. My brother makes some real nice ones to...Ive been trying to get him on the computer to look at your bows. 8)

good stuff, mister!
a little strange to take in all at once: tim called it when he used the word "exotic"
A guy on here tried some cypress ( might've been Apex Predator, can't recall for sure) recently as a core lam and it snapped.
Like Pat said, it looks like yew. I thought it was yew, and went back to the beginning of the thread because i didn't remember reading Yew in your intro. Nice bows, buddy, now get crackin' on the buildalong!

Nice bows. They look like excellent performers. Easily could be mistaken for glass bows
-
Wicked looking bows, James. What's the bright red colored wood in the risers? Those are slicker'n snot. 8) 8)

James, as usual some beautiful bows you have there. The tiller on these I find interesting. This tiller shape has proven to be a real performer when you can get the wood to stand up to it. Have you chronoed these bows? Steve
-
I really like how you did your arrow rest.
-
Wow!! Very nice bows.
-
;D ;D ;D
-
thanks a lot guys,i thank you greatly, the brite red wood is paduke, hillbilly i have not chrono these bows yet,i need to get some batteries for mine
-
James how do you tiller those bows? Man thats a beauty. Have you finnished that Turkish bow you had at the Classic?
-
the bamboo bows i tiller with the lams between the boo backings, they are 0.1000,0.2050,0.3050 thds per running inch, the tiller is more or less in the math.then the addition of boo stripes are factored in,and sdjusted accordingly, its very time consumming, and a pain in the butt.but i come out with a nice bow, early draw weight, and a much different appearance than most other all wood bows.im now working on a self bow for a fellow when i get it finished i will post it. robustus

Those are beautiful James! Like all your bows that I've seen - look like rocket launchers :). I'm geering up for your buildalong - found some bamboo today ;).
-
James, you build those as kits by any chance? Looks like a cool glue up project but dont have the tools to do one myself.
-

i really like em man. beautifull finish too.
