I cut lots of staves with burls on them. I'm trimming some burls off the end as I trim staves down. Anyone have an interest in short stave sections with burls, or whole staves with burls? The burls are around 3 to 4 inches wide. Id imagine bows could be made with the burls on the bow if you are the artsy type and enjoy headaches. Staves are only 1 year old but straight and wide.

Here is the one burl I have cut off so far.

A friend found an old osage tree on the ground that was covered up with burls from stem to stern, he gave me quite a few of them.
I love this wood for tip overlays, it is as hard as a rock with beautiful grain swirls.

Im very interested in a short stave with osage burl. Something around 30" with a large burl on one end to make a war club.
I have some staves of vine maple, elderberry, ocean spray to trade
