Made my boys some new bows, not quite primitive, but primitive-ish. (That's why I'm not posting it on the bows page) They are made from colored furniture grade pvc with vinyl fish camo on the back (my fake snake skins). Pulling 10lbs and 5.5 lbs at 17in. They both got to shoot them in this evening and I got 2 thumbs up from both of them, they were really happy.
Pvc is a fun medium to mess with especially for these type bows. Nearly indestructible and still let's them learn to shoot a primitive style bow. Anyway, here's some pics

Very Cool! Making a kid a bow is the best regardless of material

I’m sure they will be protecting the property from any invaders.
Nice project and like you said so good for them to learn from.
I almost tried the pvc route before I started Selfbows. It’s pretty surprising how much draw weight and how nice they can be.

I have a friend that made a mold to crank out recurved PVC bows for the kids in his church, no telling how many of these bows he made but every kid was thrilled to have one.

Thanks guys, yeah pvc is pretty neat to work with, just heat and smash. I have some pink pvc coming cause now my daughter wants one :)
