I had a 'nice' clean piece of hickory....other then the fact that it had 90 degrees of propeller twist in it from one end to the other.  I roughed the bow down to a decent floor tiller and then set out to try and get it straightened out.  I was able to clamp one end to my caul and lever the rest of the limb down to the caul.  I used dry heat that I administered with a continuous brushing of avocado oil.  I was able to do this to both sides and then I repeated the process to get a deeper heat treating and a little more reflex.  I only ended up with an inch and a half or so when I was done.  From here the rest is history!  The bow tillered out nicely and I was able to get it finished relatively quickly.  I finished the belly in steel wool and vinegar dye and the back in a combination of various leather dyes.  The tip overlays are poplar and oak.  Handle is vegetable tanned leather dyed red.  It holds a half inch or so of reflex when unstrung.  I had made a bow for a friend when I initially got back into making bow and I told him I would get him another one to hunt with this upcoming fall.  I tried to take a bunch of pics along the way I hope you like it.  Here is a link to the youtube short I made for this bow:  https://youtube.com/shorts/3zvLoiyKx0Y?si=n8mDYLzUob0DmOgn

Looks great. I’ve got some hickory I’ve thought about burning that has that same propeller twist. Guess I’ll have to keep it now after seeing this..
Good job 👍
