Awesome bow. the colors on the rawhide are great!
I tough it was a takedown at first due to the different colors

Tiller looks great to me. You been putting out lots of top shelf stuff as of late and this is no exception. thought it was a feather backing at first, looks great. I'll keep an eye out for it in the woods :)

Your bows are just flat out beautiful. Love everything about it and the artwork is outstanding. Tiller spot on. Hopefully, it'll make meat for your recipient.

Simon.  You should be very proud of this bow.  What a great idea with the rawhide backing on yew!  I never thought of doing that before on yew.  I may have to give that a try.  Absolutely gorgeous bow.  I have a yew bow that may need a similar treatment with rawhide.  Very nice work my friend.

Thank you all very much for the nice words! Sometimes you have a flow and all comes together easy.....thats when bowmaking ist real fun.
Dave, I think rawhide ist the best you can do to any yew bow. It protects the sensitive sapwood from mechanical damage in rough use and protects it from drying out. But especially it gives you a good protection for breaking over the back - In my experience - if yew fails - its almost always breaking over the back. This risk is minimized to almost zero with rawhide. One should do it on every yew bow except elbs imho.
cheers

Love everything thing about it. Wish I had of seen your stain job before I did mine. Should have good camouflaged in the woods besides being very purdiful.👍
Someone’s gonna love it..

It is a beauty!
If any time a piece of yew drops on my hands, I will use backing; thank you for the comment.
This tipe of handle is something I´ve search for but I could not accomplish. Mantaining a centered position with the tips at the hand pressure dot and at the same time approaching the arrow pass to this center line.
Was it natural this condition at this stave or you forced it somehow?

Thanks again guys!
Juan Antonio - this type of handle is nice to have naturally grown but can also be carved on any bow - it's called a z-handle and I learnt this from bushboy who was posting here back in the days. I do this on all of my bows, just too many advantages!
