Post by: ken bee on May 19, 2008, 09:00:05 pm
when i asked at my local lumber store for spruce the guy said oh you want facia it looked to be white washed but i could see the grain on the ends some were thin ringed some were wider. do any of you think he is right, if so whitch rings would be better for a short sinewed osage recurve around 47# any advice will help as my alum. arrows look just WRONG  in the same room with this little diamond thanks and happy hunting     ken

Thinner growth rings so you can get as many as possible in the arrow. If you don't get several rings the spine will be too dang weak.  I'm sure you know but I will say it anyway. Be carefull of grain runout. Justin
