Title: spicebush arrow..pics added
Post by: david w. on May 18, 2008, 08:56:47 pm
on a whim i made 1 arrow today.  I dont have a spine tester yet so i decided to try out spicebush since idint want to mess up my nice ramin wood shafts from PatB.

i really like spicebush. It straightens nice and it should shoot well enough. When i flexed it it seems like my other arrows.  This is my best one yet. I really like it.

i put on a hardwood target point i made with my pocket knife.

My pictures are never very good but they will be up soon.

if you want a better pic of scorch marks or anything else i will post them

Cool David. Looking forward to seeing your pics. How do you like the spice bush(Lindera benzoin)? Seems I had trouble keeping it straight. A little hand straightening before you shoot fixes that though.  It does smell nice while scraping the bark.  ;D    Pat

i really like spicebush so far it has stayed straight and it seems like a durable shaft. i like it alot better than multiflora rose.
at first i dint really like the smell but then it grew on me. :)
