Hello
This one comes from an old apple tree on my property and was a long term build.
First I roughed it out but had no plan and put it aside. Then I developped a plan but didn't believe it would come together and put it aside. Then I started the tillering but felt it wasn't possible to make it bend appropriately. After some time I again collected all of my patience and finished tillering but had no plan for an appropriate grip; I put it aside again, just shot it from time to time. Finally I thought about putting a little cork and elm bast around.
I couldn't be more happy with this bow. It's definitly a keeper and apple definitly is great bowwod. When I shot it thtough the chrono last winter I got over 190 fps / 9gpp / 27"draw. The bow did not take any set in the working limbs despite fun-shooting it quite often since - not even after pulling it to 28"; only the reflexed levers pulled out some.
Thanks for watching!
cheers

A beauty and a great shooter!

Yep, that's a nice bow, for sure.
How wide are the limbs?
-
damn thats some character and awsome speed. what string material do you use?
-
Best of both worlds, fast and purty! That really is a great looking bow.
-
Thanks very much all! This one made me leave my comfort zone and also made me try a new design, which I will repeat on a clean stave! It's one of my all time favorites 🤗
Limbs are 1 3/4" at the widest Hamish and I used BCY 452x, 6 strands, on this one. Sure the fastest possible string. Usually I use D97 nowadays Rowan!
