Restored this Hmong crossbow of Vietnam/Lao/Thailand/Yunan
simple lever that just flicks the string up
possibly a stone age invention

How is the bow fixed to the stock?

Hi Hamish,
there is a slot and you just insert it inside. if it fits perfect it will fit.
the tension of the bowstring will prevent if from wiggling
the draw weight is around 50lbs so doesnt need lashings

I saw someone a long time age selling one that looked a lot like this as a "pigmy" crossbow. I think they were guessing because of the size. I would love to make one to plink with!
