Title: More spalling start to finish
Post by: Allyn T on February 11, 2022, 02:34:19 pm
Sat in the rain at work today and spalled two big chunks I grabbed the other day. This is harvester chert. You can see in the first pictures how the stone has lots of 90 degree corners from weather cracks sometimes that helps if you can get the break to initiate there but sometimes it just makes it break weird. Also the stone may look solid and then you find a hidden seam inside that ruins what you were trying to do.
