Title: Propeller Twist Persimmon

Just curious if it's worth persuing or make firewood out of it. Opinions please.

Forget full length staves. Cut length in half, and use matched billets. When joined the twist will cancel each other out. You could still steam the twist out(before joining), easier to do because you only have to deal with half the amount of twist.

Too much work? Firewood, or other uses like wooden spoons.

Thanks fellas. Don't think I'll spend much effort on these. I'm ok with steaming and all but it is extra when I can just look for another. Probably go to the firewood pile or spoon or golf club. Haven't tried either one of those last two yet.

Hang on to them for a while. By the time you get to them, they will be well seasoned. Persimmon makes a good bow.

Pat, I have almost the exact same piece of persimmon that I have saved. It’s about 6 years old now. I removed bark and sealed. How does persimmon react to dry heat?
