Title: Ash Recurve Bow

Hi guys!

Here's my newest creation. The bow draws 35 lbs at 28". It's smooth and fast shooter. Tips overlays and arrow shelf are made from Zebra wood. I used natural leather for handle wrap and lineen twine for bow string. The bow was slightly heat treated (2 times - before tilllering and after final tillering) and it took 1" of set after using it for a while. I'm very happy with the outcome. I named the bow "Phoenix". To build this bow I used ash (Fraxinus excelsior) wood. I had to remove a few growth rings to get thicker one. Thin ringed Fraxinus excelsior wood tends to be very brittle. At widest limbs are 2 1/4 ".

If you try another recurve make the limbs parallel width for half the limb then taper into the shoulders of the recurves :) Much more stable once you start pushing thelimits.

Beautiful bow. Wide pyramid bows like your look amazing. The tiller is on point. Well done. ;)
