This was my first try at making a arrow tell me what you guys think. I got ALOT of info from you guys. The fletchings are Wild Turkey 5" long by 1" tall. The shaft is 5/16 Hardwood dowel rod. The trade point is saw blade, to thick though it weighed 235 grn. But, what can I say it was just a learning arrow.
Thanks guys.

i'm fixin to try and make some soon, have some red osier drying, four fresh buzzard wings waiting to have the feathers picked and deboned(for calls).

looks great
-
very nice brother .. fine lookin arrow.. Hawk
-
Looks great to me! If it flies good, I wouldn't worry about how much the point weighs. If it seems a little noisy, you might trim the feathers down a little shorter. ;)
-
That is a fine looking arrow, you've got the mechanic's down pat.The proof is in the pudding.See how well that one flies.then if needed, start fine tuning untill you got your spine, head wieght, etc. down to a lethal and good flying arrow. Good work ! Frank

Thnks guy's , Question, I shoot left hand so do I need to use left wing or right wing arrows?
Thanks again everyone
-
It doesn't which wing you shoot as long as you use the same side feathers on the same arrow. Pat
-
very nice arrow. how did you cut your fletch? look almost perfect.
Hope she flys for you.

Looks nice....I bet it flies good too....let us know how it all works out
-
Nice work, great looking arrow.
-
I traced the shape on a piece of plexie glass cut 2 out on a scroll saw sanded them the same then used one of those metal clamps to hold them to the feather then cut with scissors.

Looks like it will bring meat, good job. Like Pat B use all lefts or all rights and you'll be fine.

She Flights great out to about 20yrds then dives a little but I think it could be the bow its only 30lbs havent got my 55 yet. Its Cool watching it spin as it releases from the sting even with that heavy head.

Very nice ,if it flies good you can't get much better than that, and you say that was a learning arrow, looks like you learned well. :)
Pappy

Looks like you learned well, Pilgrim......That is a very nice arrow. Like they said, the proof is in the pudding, but you sure have the recipie down, now if it isn't quite right, just adjust to taste......
-
That is nice looking work ! (Much better than the first one hundred I made) Look forward to seeing more of the same. Frank
-
I like that arrow and your fletching trim jig. If you don't mind ,I'm going to borrow your idea with a little modification involving J-B weld.
-
Nice arrow, especially for your first! And good thinking with that fletching template. I've been freehanding it with scissors. A template such as that would be quite useful. Thanks for the idea ;)
