Title: Hickory Backed Red Oak Board Bow
Post by: blindarcher on March 17, 2021, 08:38:53 pm
Hi all.  It has been awhile since I last built a board bow and backed it with hickory.  If I recall correctly, I had used Unibond once with not so good results.  I think I have also used Titebond III.  Anyway, my memory is fading.  I was wondering what others have used and how they have prepared the wood, the base wood (red oak) and the backing (hickory).  I want to avoid any surprised delamination.

Thanks!

Jon

I use Titebond 3 and plastic packing wrap for the glue up. Never had an issue as long as the surfaces are flat.

Thanks Ryan,

If I recall, Titebond 3 seemed to work ok.  I think I will go with that.
