Title: Hardware store bow
Post by: sleek on January 08, 2021, 02:45:43 pm
I'm excited to say I wrote an article for the PA magazine about how to make a bow from materials found at a typical store that sells hardware. I believe it will be published in the next issue and having never written anything before, I'm rather excited to see it come out.

If yall subscribe to the mag, I hope you enjoy it, and if you don't, I sure hope you pick a copy off the shelf! I did my best to be clear and thorough on the process, but if you have any questions on the build, or want to build one, please, ask and post!

This is my son pulling back the newest one 40#@26.

I look forward to reading it sleek.

Glad you submitted a article. It’s a pretty painless process really. Ed always helped me submit them before and now Marie makes it pretty simple.

I really encourage anyone with a good story to submit it. I think I did eight articles and a poem so far. I never dreamed I would do something like that. I’m sure my high school English teacher didn’t either.lol

I know some others that have submitted articles to. I always take a little extra interest when I know the author personally. Kinda cool.

  ;D ;D

I submited my first ever recently, and I must have proof read the thing a million times.  I never used to be a stickler on good English, but whenever I find myself having a hard time reading someone's work I remind myself to do better. :)

Good for you, Sleek. I probably won't get to see it since I don't subscribe.

I've written some articles that were published and proofread articles, magazines, and books for others. I was an average English student in high school, but studied to improve later on my own. I respect anyone who does it. Writing can be rewarding, and torturous.

Cool. I like to see what happends when people think outside of the norm. I liked seeing that one you made for the trade. Also shows a resource to folks that may not have good access to materials otherwise. Lookin forward  to the article.

Good for you, sleek.

I remember reading the Hickory pick handle bow article back in the day.

Oh, well, this may be a redo of that one then. I didn't know some one had beat me to the subject.
