Simonds farrier made in usa!

A tool like that will make short order of a bow stave. Nice

It makes a heap of shavings - add some wax for fire starters? If you know a farrier, getting a rasp or two shouldn't be a problem. They usually retire their rasps as soon as they feel "not as sharp as new" Keeps the horses happier, and makes the job go faster! The rasps are still plenty sharp, though!

+1....That's what I do.I have a neighbor who is a farrier.

Have a look at a Shinto rasp, if you haven't. I really like mine.

I have several farrier rasps and I use them all as they do make quick work at hogging off wood. First thing I noticed about the picture is the rasps laying on top of each other...gives me the same feeling as a bow strung backwards.
