Title: Live oak

Hey gang, been awhile since I've posted or built a bow. Life and work gets in the way. I stop by and read when I can. The itch to build a new bow is getting me motivated. I have several good staves set aside to get started.
But my question is on Live oak. Last couple of weeks I cut, debarked, split and sealed several staves. Looking for any advise on how the wood likes being built into a bow. A good starting point in width, does it like heat treat, etc. Look forward to any advise.

  Here ya go Spyder...A class A bow from Ben made from Live Oak...Make sure this wood is bone dry before applying heat...

Thanks Don, I have done a search twice and nothing came up except Pat had said he wanted to try live oak in another post. I get these in a hot box and work on some very sweet osage I've had for years.
I'll pick Ben's brain some also in planing what to try with this oak. Any other advise is appreciated.
