Put this together with some help. I am no knife maker but every long hunter needs a Bowie.

Thanks fella's. You guys been doing this for a long time. I really appreciate the help Pappy and the education on knives and such. Wish I had more elk horn. Now they sell it for dog chews the price has gone crazy. When I was a young guy you could pick up all you could carry in Jackson WY. Not anymore , not off GVT land or parks etc.

Shawn,
I need some motivation to make some scales from the antler I have, like a deadline or commitment!  PM me your address and I will send you a couple pairs.  Just had a brain storm about making toggle buttons for my capote too!

Shawn, I am not a big fan of Bowies but that is one mighty fine knife, I like how your handle came out and the nickel gives it a nice touch. Bob

It looks like a nickel Bob but it is actually a Horse Tack Concho. Used as decorations for saddlery and and bridales. Look em up on ebay. They come in all Diameters and shapes! Bill gifted me this at Twin Oaks as he had a tray full of them. He told me "you got to put one of these on the grip" He was correct it looks purty good.
