Title: A murder outside my truck
Post by: sleek on September 29, 2019, 05:12:40 pm
Black crows are really pretty up close. I tossed some sunflower seeds out to them at the parking lot I'm staying at, and a whole murder of them showed up. They took to me pretty quick  approaching, looking directly at me with a cocked head, chirping, as if asking for more. I kinda like these guys, and wonder about domesticating one.

There was a study done in England on crows. The scientists would climb up to the nest to weigh and measure the babies. Afterwards they had to wear masks because the crows would ID the workers and attack them. Somehow even other crows knew the faces of the workers years later.

When I was a kid there was a one legged Crow in the neighbourhood he was quite the character we used to hand feed him.  Then one day he was found dead,  as far as I remember someone shot him with a pellet gun.
