I finished a sinew/rawhide backed yew bow using hide glue. 36” OAL and Drawing only 26# @ 16”, it held its reflex well making it pretty quick for such a light and short draw. My friend Randy Lewis sent me a photo taken in 1899 of an Oglala Sioux member “Shout At”. I liked the basic but appealing color scheme so I painted this one using his as inspiration.

that is all :OK

Neat bow. Love the coloring on it. Does it bend all the way through or is the handle stiff?

Nice! Authentic pattern is neat!

Glad you guys like this little bow. I have some bigger ones coming down the line )P(
Jared- this bow has a stiff handle. I considered letting the handle bend to get more draw length out of it, but i didn't want to loose any weight or over stress the rawhide (which was already complaining a bit).

Nicely done.
Is this a hand colored photo of the Oglala?

Simson- its actually just a screenshot i took. But i have seen a few renditions where it appears they adjusted the color to make different things stand out in this particular photo.
This bow is getting shipped to Sweden tomorrow. I met a guy from there who is quite the enthusiast of Western and Native American style memorabilia.
