Here is a little video I put together about a Call Maker many of you may know. What you may not be aware about is the quality of his work. Also in the video, the victorinox ranger knife makes a guest appearance. Pappy you may also notice one of your walking sticks in the background.

Pappy,
Your walking stick also is in the Maple Syrup making video. Very nice work. I get a bunch of compliments when folks see the stick in person.

Wait....who is that scruffy character hiding behind the beard and camo? He looks familiar. (I know, my downfall is hanging out with a very disreputable crowd. Put that on my tombstone, why doncha?)

I like it, tell Kevin I said ha, I have some of his calls and he does a great job for sure. :)

I now want to make some calls! do you think you could burn a hole like a canoe and then carve and sand it down?
-
Ha to yourself Pappy!
I'm still not sure but I'm trying to make it to the Classic this year.
Deer hunter,
I doubt you could burn it out successfully, you'd have to control your burn within a 5/8 by 5 space. Also tuning a box call is like tuning a musical instrument, when your close to getting the sound you want there's a very fine line between getting a great sounding call and getting a wooden box to store paper clips in.

I just used that one of yours that stores paperclips wonderfully! And it sounds great, too!
