Finished this Osage shorty for my buddy. It's 57 1/2" and pulls 44#@26". I dressed it up with some bullsnake skins that he brought back from Kansas last year. The Osage is also from Kansas that he brought back about 3-4 years ago. I named the bow Kansa after a Indian tribe.
This is how Kansas got it's name. The bow is not a replica of what they used. I did a little sketch of the state mammal, the bison. The tips are shedua and marble wood and the grip is leather. It's finished with eight coats of tru oil. Thanks for looking, Jon (straightarrow)

Now I will absolutley testify that if thats Kansas Osage ( best in the world) its a shooter for sure and the skins look like our bullsnakes here in Kansas too. Nice job in every way. Really like it. Tiller is great and I love the length.

This was the first time I got to work with Kansas Osage. It's good stuff for sure. The Osage I get in Pennsylvania is real yellow. This was much darker almost orange. I've read different things about coloring and a lot of bowyer's swear by it
