Title: Yew - question
Post by: gorazd on February 23, 2019, 04:57:32 am
I have got a piece of yew and wonder if this will be enough for some bow..

What do you think ?

All over length is about 170cm, thickest part is 8cm wide , on the other end only 5cm...

I hope that from thickest part (50cm long, 8cm thick) I will manage to get some decent strip for core in turkish bow... at least

Might make a nice stick bow, but that's about it.
I've marked where I think the bow is... other opinions are also available  ;D

Possibly a couple of billets. Getting two out of 8cm might be iffy. Unfortunately one would be deflexed and the other reflexed.
