I wanted to try out my phone to post pics so I took a bunch of them while working another piece of gravel tonight.
I hope y'all like a lot of pics
This piece had a few clues showing on the surface hinting that it had hidden obsticles inside and that one end was gonna fall off sooner or later during the process of working it.
I got a starter flake on one end and just tried to take the biggest flakes I could to get it skint.

this is where the end fell off due to the crack
-
up to this point has been all direct percussion work with a copper bopper
-
here I've beveled the edge with pressure and will continue thinning with a 3/8" copper rod held under the knee indirect.
I do one side then bevel and work the other side usually
-
pressure flaked the edges and tried to do some basal notches like an Andice, but one stalled about 1/8" in so I had to do something else and I decided on a newnan. After I was done with it I looked up Newnan points and seen that I didn't get the shape quite right.
Included too is a pic of most of the gravel I got the other day. It's all wet because it's been raining here and we are forecasted to have rain for the next seven days but this was the piece at the top left

Dandy work on tough rock.

My hat is off to you. That is just mean rock right there.

one good thing about this rock is it don't break too easy

They'd all make nice durable hunting points.

Yeah,
Instead of replacing an exhausted point, with these you have to replace the exhausted shaft after glancing off a few trees and rocks, ;D
-
That is a fine example of working tough gravel and getting good results. That one should get you a gold star.

Thanks
I don't get a gold star though because I couldn't notch it
