Title: tree identification

Hey,
 I'm new to bow building and have been scouting local bow woods around my area. I need help identifying this tree. It looks like cascara but the leaves seem different. Any help would be appreciated! Thank you.

Willamette valley in oregon. Headed towards coastal mountains.

Black Hawthorn

It was right next to a red hawthorn which had some big thorns but this tree did not have horns
