Title: cupid bowyer
Post by: jeffp51 on June 11, 2018, 08:59:39 am
I am in Germany right now, and found this guy in a museum in Dresden.  I have never seen Cupid using a draw knife before.  I thought it was cool.

That was my first thought to Kyle.
Maybe it just reflexed that much Kyle. Cupid can strike pretty hard sometimes and he's got a short draw.lol I'm trying to see which way the string notches are cut. Could be it's just art to and we're not supposed to think that much.Nice curl off the draw knife though. Very nice whatever the case. Thanks for sharing Jeff and enjoy your trip.

Very cool. I think he could be tillering a reflexed stave. Cupid certainly does make a hard-hitting bow!  :BB

Neat sculpture!  Got to be a reflexed stave, given the other pieces showing his full draw.  He does need a bit more wing, though (SH) >:D!

Besides th string tension problem, anyone else spot that MASSIVE fret on the belly?

The bow is way too long for the amount of bend it shows. Imagine that string were tight. The angles wouldn't make any sense

The slack string makes me think that kids(or drunken "adults") have been climbing on it. The hinge is just a kink where someone has bent it.

The bows limbs look badly damaged like DC said.
